   A proud native Texan, Lisa Sutherlin grew up in the heart of Johnson County, embracing a simple country life on a dirt road surrounded by open fields and grazing cows. When her parents divorced, she ventured to Germany with her sister, where she discovered her true passion for helping others. At just 19, she joined the American Red Cross, earning recognition for her dedicated volunteer work. Returning to Texas, Lisa pursued her education, earning an associate’s degree from Tarrant County College and a bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University.

   In 2000, her real estate journey began with a personal quest to find her first home. She enlisted a Realtor hoping for guidance but was frustrated when the homes didn’t align with her vision. That disappointment ignited a determination to elevate the industry with exceptional customer service and integrity. She launched her own real estate business that same year, fueled by a passion for helping people find homes that truly suit their needs—and she quickly discovered joy in connecting clients with properties that matched their dreams.

   A few years later, she met Jolynn Blake, who became not just a dear friend but also an incredible business partner. When Jolynn mentioned needing a job, Lisa encouraged her to get her real estate license and join her. Affectionately known as JoJo, she shared Lisa’s commitment to putting people first, and their collaboration was both fulfilling and successful. Those years were filled with laughter, hard work, and the rewarding feeling of making a difference for clients. Their partnership flourished into a powerhouse team, earning consistent accolades for top performance, including:

   Over 18 years, their partnership evolved into the thriving Pender Blake Group, with Lisa stepping up as managing broker. In 2022, she became the sole owner after Jolynn’s retirement. Managing the brokerage alone wasn’t the same, and the joy she once felt began to fade. Although Lisa cherished her team of agents, she longed to return to the hands-on work that first inspired her. Not wanting to compete with her agents, she explored a new path: land sales. To her surprise, she found a deep passion for it. She joined the Realtors Land Institute and immersed herself in learning, taking courses on land and commercial real estate. She began handling land transactions herself and supported her agents in a few as well.

   Last year, she started the process of closing her brokerage, but at an agent’s urging, she kept it open for another year. The challenges of 2025 clarified her path: her heart was no longer in running the brokerage; it was in pursuing her passion for real estate. To her, properties—whether homes or land—are more than transactions; they’re investments in people’s futures. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping clients choose a home or parcel of land that will grow in value or guiding them away from risky decisions. At the end of 2025, she made the bittersweet decision to focus on her dreams and asked her team of agents to seek new broker sponsorships.

   As she looks toward 2026, she feels a renewed sense of anticipation. If you see her smiling, you’ll know why—she’s rediscovering the joy of real estate and eager to help clients build their futures through thoughtful, value-driven investments. As a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, the Residential Real Estate Council, and the Realtors Land Institute—with extensive credentials including CLHMS, CRS, CNE, GMA, CNHSS, ABR, GRI, SFR, E-PRO, and PSA—Lisa brings warmth, expertise, and commitment to every client, ensuring their real estate journey is seamless and rewarding.   Married to her husband Andy, who owns and operates a successful CNC company, Lisa cherishes their blended family of five children—two now grown and three thriving in high school. They call Keller, Texas, home for now but eagerly anticipate a move to acreage once the kids graduate. Lisa continues to volunteer, recently supporting the Humane Society of North Texas and Cody’s Friends Rescue, and has welcomed three abandoned pets into their home..
